Weeks 1–4
Oct 19, 2026–Nov 15, 2026
Establish repeatable weeks, keep most running easy, and begin extending the long run without forcing the pace.
Jacksonville Beach, FLFebruary 7, 2027
Start around October 18, 2026. The calendar below gives each phase a real date, then the course guidance shows where to make the build specific to 26.2 with DONNA.
26.2 with DONNA holds its course open for seven hours and puts a hydration station roughly every mile, which is about as much room as a marathon will give you. It starts at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2027 at the Jacksonville beaches, and entry money goes to the DONNA Foundation and its work against breast cancer.
Use this window when you have a running base and want several weeks before the hardest marathon-specific work begins. The extra month over a 12-week plan creates more room for gradual long-run growth and recovery.
These dates define the job of each phase. Your current mileage, recent longest run, experience, goal, and available days still decide the actual workouts inside them.
Weeks 1–4
Oct 19, 2026–Nov 15, 2026
Establish repeatable weeks, keep most running easy, and begin extending the long run without forcing the pace.
Weeks 5–10
Nov 16, 2026–Dec 27, 2026
Increase the weekly load, preserve step-back weeks, and introduce the terrain and effort the race will require.
Weeks 11–13
Dec 28, 2026–Jan 17, 2027
Complete the biggest race-specific weeks and use long runs to lock in fueling, pacing, and equipment.
Weeks 14–16
Jan 18, 2027–Feb 7, 2027
Bring volume down while keeping the weekly rhythm familiar. Training is finished before race week begins.
Use the first month to establish consistency, then make long runs progressively more specific to the race's terrain and conditions. The course rehearsal should grow with the plan, not appear all at once in peak week.
Read the full race guideStart your long runs at 7:30 in the morning, not at dawn. That single change is the most race-specific thing you can do here, because a 7:30 a.m. gun on the Florida coast puts most of your marathon into a warming morning instead of the cool hour before sunrise. Training at 5:30 a.m. rehearses a race you aren't running.
Then train the temperature gap. A 16 week block starts in the middle of October, so your hardest long runs land in November, December and January and then you race in coastal air that's warmer and wetter than any of it. Overdress for a few January long runs, rehearse fueling at that effort, and set race day effort by feel rather than by the splits cold air handed you.
Use the aid stations as a plan rather than a rescue. With water and Gatorade roughly every mile, the failure mode here isn't running dry, it's drinking on impulse at two dozen tables and arriving at mile 20 sloshing. Pick a schedule in training, something like a full cup every other station, and run it on your long runs until it's a habit.
If seven hours is your margin rather than your surplus, train the run walk pattern you'll actually use on the day. A 16 minute per mile cutoff makes a disciplined walk break strategy completely workable here, but only if you've covered 20 miles that way already, at that ratio, with that fueling.
Current mileage, recent longest run, marathon experience, goal, and available days determine which plans rank first. After you choose and subscribe, Stride dates every workout through February 7, 2027.
The 2027 26.2 with DONNA is scheduled for February 7, 2027, so the 16-week window opens around October 18, 2026. Treat that as the outside edge of the window, then line week one up with the plan's normal weekly rhythm.
Use this window when you have a running base and want several weeks before the hardest marathon-specific work begins. The extra month over a 12-week plan creates more room for gradual long-run growth and recovery. The course does not change the opening load you can handle, so choose from your current mileage and recent longest run before adding race-specific terrain.

Do not double weeks or cram missed mileage into the remaining calendar. Use your current mileage, recent longest run, experience, goal, and available days to choose a plan that can enter at an appropriate point while preserving the taper.
Seven hours, which works out to a 16 minute per mile pace. The marathon starts at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2027, so the course closes at 2:30 p.m. Hydration stations sit approximately every mile and never more than two miles apart, with water and Gatorade.
Yes. The organizer states that the marathon is a Boston Qualifier and an Abbott World Marathon Majors age group qualifier, and lists its USATF certification number as FL22056JK. No qualifying rate is published for this race, so nobody can honestly tell you what share of finishers qualify on it.
Each page counts back from race day, maps the 4 phases to real dates, and applies the window to that course and its typical conditions.
